Eddie Hobgood served as a Salvation Army officer for 38 years attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In addition to his many corps and divisional headquarters appointments, Eddie twice served at the Southern Territorial Headquarters in Atlanta as the Territorial Program Secretary overseeing all programming executed by The Salvation Army in the South. Eddie has also served as the Divisional Commander of the North and South Division and at the International Headquarters in London, England, where he, and his wife, Kathy, organized and executed the international celebration of The Salvation Army’s 150th anniversary — Boundless.
Eddie is the creator of The Battle Plan, a strategic plan for growth and ministry, which is the official annual review document used by The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory to measure mission growth.
Eddie joined the Arthur Alley team in 2023 and is grateful to continue impacting the ministry of The Army through his work on Mission Planning Studies/Needs Assessments and Strategic Planning.
The Salvation Army Crest Books recently published his book, The Sanctified Salvationist Showman, the story of Joe the Turk, and it is already in its second printing.
